He Gets It!

How amazing is it to watch a little brain figure things out?  I love to just sit back and watch Ryder as he takes this world in and is now starting to comprehend how things work.  Some examples:

When I pick him up from daycare, he tells everyone “BYYYYEEEE” then looks at me and says “Car” then when we get to the car he says “Teys” (keys) then he says “Drive”, I say “yes baby, Mommy is going to put her keys in the car and drive you home”.  He always thinks about that statement for a minute and then says “Plaaaaayyy??” Yes, when we get home we can play!  It amazes me that he knows this sequence and can put it all together in his mind.

He knows exactly where the dog treats are and always points at the cabinet and says “treat, treat, treat” over and over until you hand him a treat and then he yells SO loud “BUBBA!” as he crawls off to go bring Bubba a treat.  He will even sit outside of Bubba’s cage and break the treat up into little pieces so that he has more to feed him!

Whenever we are drinking a bottle of water, or anything with a lid, he insists on putting the lid on but he knows just setting it on top isn’t right, so he looks at you and says “Turn”.  Gotta turn the lid so it will stay on…smart boy!

We all know that he has a Praise Baby obsession, and he now wants it to be on at all times.  He will go find the remote saying “mote, mote, mote” then start pointing it at the TV saying “mooo, mooo” (movie), if I say “no Ryder, we only watch your movie at night time” he tells me “PLAY!”  He knows that you have to press play to get the movie to come on.

Alan is a little scraped up from, lets just call it a run of bad luck he had last week, and Ryder always wants to touch his scabs.  We tell him over and over, Daddy is hurt, don’t touch.  So now he points at the scabs and says “boo-boo” then presses them with his fingers before we can stop him and says “Hurt!”

In the mornings I always have a cup of coffee in my hand.  Ryder has never tasted coffee, but somehow he knows all about it.  He says “coffee” Yup, Mommy’s drinking coffee.  “Mmmmmm” Yup, Mommy’s coffee is yummy!  “Hot!” That’s right baby, Mommy’s coffee is very hot!

He gets it!  I don’t know when this happened, but it’s like he comprehends everything now!

Way to go Ryder! Their brains just jump up a notch over night ,it seems. Bailey loves 'coffee' too because I also drink it. She says that her milk in the morning is her 'foffee'...that's how she says it though! LOL

What a smart boy :) He's getting so big, and so smart!! I need to see him soon! It's so funny that Bryce does the same thing, still, when people have "boo boo's"... he'll push them and say "that hurts?" lol. Boys will be boys!
