First I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of Halloween, it’s by far not my favorite holiday, nor do I even find interest in anything spooky or make believe. With that said, let me tell you about all of the festivities we participated in this year!
We went to the Pumpkin Patch ( Ryder twice!).
Ryder went to the Creepy Crawly Carnival at the YMCA with Uncle G & Catherine. He played games, did crafts, went for a hayride, and came very close to going through a haunted house before telling Uncle G “Ryder doesn’t want to go in there, Ryder’s going THAT way” pointing in the opposite direction of the man with the chainsaw!
We went to a Pumpkin Decorating Party at Nicki & Mikayla’s.
Ryder went to the Harvest Party at Church with Nana. He got to play lots of games, win prizes, and even see a camel!
On Halloween we dressed the kids up as a Pirate & a Panda. I have to tell a story about this. When I was pregnant with Maisy, Gregg’s girlfriend Catherine bought us two build-a-bear Panda’s that were dressed in Harley outfits…one for Ryder and one for Maisy. Ryder named them Ryder Pandy and Maisy Pandy. He especially loved Maisy Pandy and insisted on taking her everywhere with him and sleeping with her all the time. Ryder knew Maisy was goign to be a panda for halloween, but when we brought her out and sat her with him to get a picture he couldn’t get enough of her. Let me narrate:
Awwww Maisy Pandy you’re so cute!
Maisy Pandy look at big brova pirate!
Does Maisy Pandy want a kiss?? Huh Maisy Pandy??
Ohhhh my sweet Maisy Pandy.
Obviously that picture was never going to work out! So individually, here’s our pirate:
And here’s our panda:
We had a lot of fun taking them trick-or-treating! Ryder stayed in character all night, telling everyone “ARGGHHH MATEY” and “SURRENDER THE BOOTY!!” before saying trick-or-treat at each door. Nothing seemed to scare him, when we’d go to a door with a scary mask he’d act like he didn’t even notice, then as we pulled away on the golf cart he’d say “Bye scary mask house!”
Last stop on Halloween was to Poppy & Nana’s (of course this was the first stop too to pick up our light swords, and the middle stop to drop off Maisy who couldn’t hang as long as the pirate!) to get buckets full of goodies…literally!
Once we finally got home it was time for pajama’s (another halloween themed pair, of course!). “Hooked on Candy” as he sits there guarding his bag full of candy!
The festivities didn’t end here! We got dressed up again tonight for a special trick-or-treat at ReRe’s, for more buckets full of goodies!
So like I said, I’m really not that into Halloween! Hahaha…okay so maybe I am. Or maybe it’s just that I’m into anything that makes them smile! I can’t help but be festive, these kids make everything so much fun!!

Aww Maddy was a panda her first year too :) Love Ryder's costume with the cool hand candy bag!! He is such a sweet big brother.
I think the narration of them sitting together is so sweet. All of that, every event, looked so much fun and I am with you on Halloween. The beginning of our posts sound a lot alike!
See, Aunt B doesn't teach him HORRIBLE things...that "surrender the booty" thing got him LOTS of candy!!! (Now... I shall work on teaching Maisy how to blow bubbles with her mouth WHILE she eats!) JUST KIDDIN, but I WILL teach her very soon how to BAT HER EYES at people (she's a gurl! she'll get sum mileage outta that!) Must be gender appropriate! *winks* They are just Precious! The harvest festival was a hoot! He just made up his OWN rules, I Loved it when he just approached the Corn Hole game... and paused, then STEPPED Up ONTO IT and got over the hole and DROPPED IT then cheered for himself! TOO MUCH! Love you all!
That's the cutest panda and pirate I've ever seen :)
