Maisy Movies!

Oh this little girl.  Now that she is talking and understanding things it is so fun to have little conversations with her!  She keeps us laughing!!

Any time she is near my phone or the computer she says “Bruva sing, Bruva sing, Bruva sing” over and over and over and over because her favorite video ever to watch is the video of Ryder singing at Church.  She would seriously watch it on repeat a million times if she could.  She sings along, adds her little dance moves, and laughs and claps.  It’s almost as entertaining watching her watch him, as it is watching the actual video!

Please ignore the vocals on this next clip and just enjoy the cuteness!

Bye-Bye Paaaa

That would be baby talk for Goodbye Pacifier!!!

Last Wednesday I came home from dropping Ryder off at Awana and when I came in the door Alan told me Maisy had something to tell me.  She told me her first little story!

Maisy: Paaaaaaaa (paci)

walking toward the window

Maisy:  Beee-Beeee (Beasley)

pointing out the window

Maisy: Chewwwww

Mommy: What!  You threw your Paci out the window and Beasley chewed it up???

Maisy: MmmHmmm … All Gone!

And just like that, her paci is all gone.  She has not had one since!

This Little Momma is Walking!!

My mom suggested I put shoes on Maisy because she thought it’d make her more stable so she’d walk better.  I rolled my eyes.  Vicki agreed with my Mom.  So I packed a pair of shoes for Nana’s today with a “I’m telling you guys she’s going to hate having shoes on her feet, everything online says to let babies learn to walk barefoot now, you’ll see” look on my face, and guess what…these Grandma’s actually know what they’re talking about!  We picked her up today, she had shoes on her feet, wasn’t screaming about it, and she was WALKING!  Imagine that!  (okay okay I’m sorry for rolling my eyes.)

Oh my goodness she is such a Daddy’s girl, can you tell?!?!  On top of being a Daddy’s girl, we realized today that she is a little Momma!  We got her baby doll out and she was being so nurturing!  Patting her, rocking her, kissing her…it brought tears to my eyes…all I kept saying was “awwwww she’s a Mommy!  Look babe, she wants to be a Mommy!”  Then I hear Daddy hugging her saying “you’re going to be a good big sister, yes you are…”  ummmm, wait, wait, wait, wait, I don’t know about all that!  ha.

A Maisy Video & Ryder Funnies

Things have been so hectic around here lately, sorry I haven’t had time to sit down and upload pictures or write about our happenings.  I’ll just keep you entertained with cute video’s of our kids instead! (atleast I think they’re cute, haha).

Her shirt says “Sweetest Little Sister” with a big cupcake on it.  I asked Ryder that morning “Ryder, do you think your sister is as sweet as a cupcake?” He said “Nooooo, I think she’s messy like a cupcake!”

Okay now I feel telling more funny Ryder stories…here goes…

If we are outside and Ryder sees dandilions, you better believe he’s going to pick them for his Momma.  “Mommmmaaaaaa I got a surprise for you” as he picks “I’m pickin’ flowers for you because that’s what you do when you love your Momma” stillll pickin…”Momma do you know how much I love you?  I love you for TWO DAYS!”  Sounds about right…well more like 2 minutes these days!

Riding in the car the other day “I love you Mom, but do you know who I don’t love??”  oh boy….”who?” “I don’t love Captain Hook.  He’s soooooo sneaky.  I should spank his A**!”  oops, maybe we need to change his taste in music to songs with no bad words.

You know what phase I have always dreaded…the “why” phase.  Being around other children growing up it always made me cringe when they started asking “why? but why? but why? because why?” because I like to have an answer for everything, so when I can’t provide an answer to someone in return it just makes me uneasy…yes even if they are 2 years old.  When it seemed that Ryder had kind of skipped over the WHY phase, I was overjoyed!  Until I realized that he just has a different form of the WHY phase.  It goes a little something like this “well what would you say if…”.  Here are some examples:

Ryder: Can I sit up front?

Me: No Buddy, it’s illegal and Mommy doesn’t want to get in trouble.

Ryder: Well what would you say if you got in trouble?

Me: Well I wouldn’t say anything because I’m not going to get in trouble.  But if a police officer saw you in the front seat I think I’d get in trouble.

Ryder: Well what would the police officer say if I sat up front?

Me: He’d probably say “Excuse me lady, your child can NOT sit up front”

Ryder: And what would you say?

Me: I’d say “oh sorry sir, my 3 year old rules my life and he really wanted to sit up here.”

Ryder: And what would he say then?

Me: I DONT KNOW RYDER BUT LETS NOT FIND OUT…GET IN THE BACK SEAT!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: Ryder if you have to go potty make sure you let me know.
Ryder: What would you say if I didn’t tell you?
Me: I’d say “Ryder you should have told Mommy, now you’re underwear and pants are all wet and I’m not happy.”
Ryder: And what would my friends say if I peed my pants?
Me: Well they’d probably think it was gross because you’d be wet and you might smell like pee.
Ryder: And what would Daddy say if I peed my pants?
Me: OH MY GOODNESS JUST DON’T PEE YOUR PANTSSSSS….OKAYYYYYYY???
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Me: Come on Ryder, hurry up, we’re going to be late for therapy.

Ryder: What would Miss Abby say if we were late for therapy?

Me: She’d probably say “oh no, where is Ryder? He is late.”

Ryder: And what would she say when I got there?

Me: She’d probably say “Oh, there you are Ryder, you’re late.”

Ryder: And what would Mr. Ryan say if Miss Abby told him I was late?

Me: Ummm he’d probably say “I’m sorry Miss Abby I know you probably miss Ryder, I wish he wasn’t late”.

Ryder: And what would Mr. Ryan say when I got there?

Me: WHY DO I FEED INTO THIS???? CAN YOU JUST COME ON???

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And that explains why I’ve had no time to blog.  I’m too busy talking about what I would say…instead of just saying something!
Oh Maze!
This phrase comes out of Ryder’s mouth about 20 times a day.  “Oh Maze!” he will say when she’s climbing on something, dumping their toy boxes out, being a drink snatcher…that’s right “Maze” and “Drink Snatcher” are her newest nicknames.  Maze will stick I’m sure because that’s mostly what he refers to her as.  But “Drink Snatcher” is hilarious because he can’t leave a drink anywhere, she stalks him until he sets his drink down and then she is all over it.  “Mom she’s being a drink snatcher again!” or “Oh Maze, you little drink snatcher!” he’ll say.  Pure entertainment, these two.
Here she is having an “Oh Maze” moment.  I left her alone in her room for one minute, come back and she has opened her sock/shoe drawer, climbed in, and started throwing her shoes out!
Moving on…time to climb out!
She has gotten smart with her drink snatching techniques…now she grabs the drink and crawls away, here she took one to the bathroom and another one to Ryder’s bed!
I wouldn’t normally let my 9 month old have kool-aid, sweet tea, or chocolate milk…but…these days it’s not up to me!  I wouldn’t typically give her an orange yet either, but she helped herself to that off of Ryder’s tray as well!
 195
When there’s no food surrounding his chair, she takes the chair over too, it’s her own personal jungle gym!
She’s so funny!  Here’s a video of her just being herself!
Oh Maze…we love you girl!
Dress-Up & Pigtails
Ryder had the best idea yesterday!  He saw his old dinosaur costume hanging in his closet and said “Hey Momma, I have the BEST idea!  We could dress Maisy up as a dinosaur and run from her!”
064 065
I think we might have had more fun with this than she did.
069
(I’m sorry Maisy.  About the dinosaur costume and the fact that we run way faster than you crawl.)
She sure did look cute today when I picked her up and Nana had put pigtails in her hair!!
078
Everything ends with this face these days…little girls = DRAMA!  2 seconds later she forgets that she was even upset and moves along like nothing even happened.
080
Sade face and all, the pig tails are still cute :)
Am I Losing My Twin?
Fearless
That’s the only word I can use to describe this next sequence of pictures:
170 174
I feel like I’ve been following Maisy around like the paparazzi all weekend long, taking pictures of her pulling up and climbing on things.  It’s just amazing to me how un-afraid she is to try these things!  She falls, cries about it for a minute, then goes right back and does the same thing over and over again.  What’s also funny to me is how I can see God’s sense of humor in this.  Giving ME, the hypochondriac, a fearless little girl who wants to test every limit and boundary around her.  I can’t even talk about it, I’m about to have an anxiety attack.  Onto more pictures:
Just because she’s so cute:
She just started reaching up for us…ahhh melt my heart (if I can get it to stop beating so fast!).
185
All I can say is she’s going to be one tough girl.  If not from all the falls she’s taking these days, then most definitely from being treated like this:
There’s never a dull moment.
There She Goes
Maisy is constantly on the move these days…crawling all over the places as fast as she can!
And pulling up on everything!  She has a stool at Nana & Pap’s house that she basically hangs out at all day long, just standing there leaning on the stool watching all the action.  We came home and I made her a step so she’d have a place to hang out here.  And that’s exactly what she did:
094
Me & Alan decided to put her crib down as low as it goes the other day…good thing because the very next day she pulled herself up to the bathtub while Ryder was in it!
081
She’ll use anything to pull up…even moving targets, like Bentley!  He’s such a good dog, he tolerates so much from her, probably because he knows how much she loves him.  Unfortunately, pulling up on him gives her about the same results as messing with her other big brother.
She makes me so nervous but I love seeing her be able to get around and show off her independence.
Maisy’s on the Go!
There’s no stopping her now!
She’s not up on hands and knees yet, but it sure isn’t preventing her from getting around.  She is army crawling all over the house, coming to find us if we leave her in a room by herself, and having crawling races with big brother…in their Church clothes…oh well.
After just a week of crawling around and she already has the guys chasing after her!  We should have known this was coming.  We got a very special visit this weekend from our friends James & Erica and their 4 kids.  The only pictures I took were of Little James being glued to Maisy, he’s going to be a very sweet, attentive boyfriend someday!
And now the fun begins, chasing two little ones around!
