The State Fair and a trip to Chuck E Cheese all in one weekend…shew!
Saturday we took Maisy over to Gregg’s girlfriend Catherine’s house to hang out with her and her girls for the day. Then Mommy, Daddy, and Ryder headed to the Virginia State Fair! We thought it would be nice for Ryder to have our undivided attention and of course he seemed to appreciate that! The fair was so much fun. Ryder talked all week long about buying tickets to get on the rides, he wanted to ride the merry go round and the Ferris wheel. I was pretty shocked that he was acting like he had no fear about this, but of course once we got to those things it was a different story. I guess on his cartoons they don’t look so big and fast and scary! We tried to get on 3 rides but got off before they ever started, then just watched them from the sidelines.
He has been telling everyone since we got home that he didn’t get on any rides because he’s not big enough, but that next year he will be bigger and can ride the rides. We’ll see!
He loved seeing the animals at Young MacDonald’s Farm!
He thought these wood play houses were the coolest thing ever! We might have to look into getting him one some day.
I’d say his favorite parts of the fair were this corn dog that he ate so fast I don’t think he took a breathe between bites!
And this Diego that he insisted on having (he carried him like this the rest of the time in his stroller, obviously they are best friends now.)
You can always tell they had a good time when:
They are asleep before you ever leave the parking lot!
Sunday was Ryder’s cousin Bradley’s Birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Here’s the Birthday Boy:
Here’s the oh-so-excited attendee who thinks Chuckee is the coolest mouse ever (shhh, don’t tell Mickey!).
And here is baby girl who was perfectly content in her most comfortable spot, chilling with her Daddy.
After weekends like this, parents deserve a day off! But unfortunately for us Monday isn’t a holiday, so off to work we go. Maybe next weekend we’ll get some rest!

That did look exhausting. I think we are going to try and conquer our NC state fair this year. It is different than our chuck county ones we are used to! Ryder seemed to really have a great weekend and that is what matters right! Oh and I did get a hair cut a month ago or more. It is shorter! I love that last picture of Maisy too where her eyes are bright and blue! Beautiful.
So glad you had a good weekend!! Melissa was scared to ride the rides this year too!!! The only one she liked was the Ferris Wheel and the Merry Go Round, nothing else. LOL Oh and those corn dogs at the VA State Fair are AWESOME!!!! This is where my kids got their love of corn dogs from.
