An Early Christmas Present
A very early Christmas present…that wasn’t planned to be an early present…but what can ya do when the mail lady delivers it on a Saturday??
“Mom, da mail lady is comin to da door and she has a package for Ryder!!!”
Greeeeeaaaaaatttt.
“You might as well let him open it” Daddy is always on his side!
And I’m easily swayed…obviously.
But I couldn’t say no because it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for…these:
Oh how I love these rain boots I found on Zulilly for Ryder! He fell in love too, we always get excited about the same things.
So out the door him & Daddy went, to play in the puddles.
The perfect early Christmas present for a yucky rainy day!

Maisy’s First Meal
Maisy had her first meal out of a bowl and she did really good for her first time eating with a spoon! Of course I got the classic “what in the world is this” face after the first few bites:
But then she started chewing and actually enjoying the new taste.
She was licking her lips which was so cute to me. You know when you stick your bottom lip out and then flip your tongue up to look like your top lip? I totally caught Maisy making that funny face! Don’t worry Maisy I won’t show this picture to any of your future boyfriends!
Then she started talking up a storm (yes with her mouth full, I’ll teach manners later!). She makes the funniest faces when she’s chatting it up.
After the rice I put an ice cube in this food teether thing and let her go to town, she loved it!
Enough eating and talking, now I’ll just smile and be cute!
Oh this girl, she really is Mommy’s Little Sunshine!
Even Big Brother thinks she’s adorable and brought his camera phone over to snap some pics!
Sorry for posting so many pictures of the exact same thing, I just can never pick which ones to post with her, they’re all so cute! Plus I want to make you feel like you aren’t missing one second of the fun :)

4 Months!
Maisy turned 4 months old yesterday and had her 4 month Dr. Appt today. She got her Dtap shot (blah!) and also left there with a prescription for Amoxicillin because she has ear infections in both ears! Other than being stuffy in the past week, I had no clue she was feeling bad, poor girl. Here’s what our 4 month old is up to these days:
- She weighs 13 pounds 2 ounces which is the 20th percentile for weight.
- She is 25.5 inches long which is the 90th percentile for height.
- She wears 3-6 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
- She tried rice cereal from a bowl for the first time last night (pictures to come!)
- She eats 4 ounce bottles every 3 hours during the day, getting her last one at 7pm. No more breastfeeding for this Momma! She is strictly on formula now.
- She goes to bed at 7 and sleeps anywhere from 8-10 hours then takes 3-4 naps throughout the day.
- She is very stuck on her schedule, so when she’s cranky its because it’s meal time or bed time.
- No more crying in the car…….Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! Thank you Lord! It’s a miracle.
- She has really started to come into her personality this month. All you have to do is say hi to get her to flash her sweet smile. She is very calm and goes along with whatever we’re doing. She is not demanding or strong willed (YET!) but laid back and easy to please.
- She coo’s very quietly, and has started to let out the shortest little laugh for Daddy. She is very ticklish and will squirm and do her tiny laugh while I’m getting her dressed.
- She knows who her Mommy & Daddy are and has started to have a little bit of stranger anxiety. She has cried 4 different times in the past week when random people grabbed her who she wasn’t familiar with.
- Ryder is her best entertainment. She loves to watch him and when he cuddles up next to her she has to be touching him. It used to be that he always had to be touching her, but now as soon as he is within reach she grabs his face, hand, or a handful of hair…ouch! I caught her chewing on his fingers the other day, as germy as I knew it was, I couldn’t make her stop because it was the sweetest thing that he was allowing her to do that.
- She’s drooling and chewing on anything she can reach.
- She rolled from tummy to back this month. On her back she rolls to her side but hasn’t made the complete flip.
Usually big brother crashes our monthly photo shoots, but since he wasn’t available for this one, Daddy stepped in. He had to come check on his baby girl to see what she was up to. I love the bond that these two are forming, her eyes light up so fast when she sees her Daddy.
She’s the perfect mix of a Mommy’s girl, a Daddy’s girl, and I’m sure Ryder would want me to add in that she’s a Ryder’s girl too. We all love her so much, she adds the best ingredients of peace and joy and happiness to this sometimes crazy, loud, chaotic household! I’m sad these baby months are going by so fast, but always excited for the new phases to come!

Pumpkin Patch Picture Post!
To say that we had fun at the pumpkin patch would be an understatement! We got to hang out with friends, go on a hay ride, ride the barrel train, play in the corn and the hay, run in the field, eat cupcakes, and watch the kids enjoy every moment. Maisy was as content as she could be, flashing anyone who talked to her a big sweet smile! Ryder was all over the place, taking in every activity they had. EXCEPT the actual pumpkin patch…oops, we forgot about that part! What a great day, can’t wait to go back next year :)
Baby Conner
I’m an Aunt, again :) My sister Megan had a little baby boy on Friday evening…Conner Gene. He was the exact same size as Maisy! 8 pounds 8 ounces, 21.5 inches long. He has a full head of hair too! He’s so adorable and we’re so happy for them.
Gosh, being around a newborn makes me realize how NOT newborn my “new-born” is! Can’t wait to snuggle up with my cute new nephew again soon :)
