Grace In Small Things

I found a really neat thing that someone started called Grace In Small Things, you can visit the website and read all about it here. Basically, it was created to remind people to find the beauty in the little, simple things that happen to them during the day. I personally am so guilty of always letting the worries of the world get to me, without taking a second to just breathe, look around, and realize how truly blessed I am. I will periodically do a GIST post to help remind myself, others, and most importantly Ryder (one day when he can read) how important it is to find God's grace and let your heart feel joyful each and every day. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! ~Psalm 118:24.

  1. The breeze on a hot summer day
  2. When something makes Ryder smile
  3. Getting a random text from my husband during the day, lets me know he's thinking about me
  4. When my mom drops off a smoothie for me in the mornings
  5. Taking the same vacation, the same weekend, with the same friends....every year.

Fun in the Sun!

What better to do on a nice, warm, summer day than set up a play date at the pool! My friend Sharon from work invited me & Ryder to join her & her almost one year old daughter Sophia at their neighborhood pool yesterday. We had such a great time! We talked, laughed at Sophia, talked, laughed at Sophia, talked, laughed at Sophia, looked at Ryder and said "awwww", then talked some more. Sophia is a trip, she is a bundle of energy, has absolutely no fear, and has the biggest brightest personality. She loved to splash around in the pool and would even jump off the ledge into her Mommy's arms! Ryder took a different approach. He didn't view the pool as play time. He realized from the first second how relaxing it was to just lay back and enjoy the waves that Miss Sophia was creating for him. He tried so hard to keep his heavy eyes from closing, but eventually gave in and went right to sleep. Mommy & Ryder

Sophia & Ryder (this was our 3rd attempt at getting a picture of them...it was the best we could do!)
And since we were exhausted when we got home and I didn't have time to do a One Word Wednesday post, I will leave you with this:

Guess what just happened...

Ryder rolled over!!! Just now, and I watched him do it! I wish the video part on my camera was working so that I could have recorded it :( But, I did get snapshots of him in action, so here is the sequence:
Look at me lifting my head up! This is how it all started, I pushed up then started leaning and Mommy realized I was about to go for a spin!

So I twisted my head and tucked my arm under...

I kicked my leg and turned to the side....and then....

I did it!!! Yayyyy! I know, I couldn't believe it either, look how surprised I look!

What did you say? You want to see me do it again.....alriiiiiiight, here I go!

Get Ready...

Get Set...
Goooo.....
Yayyyyyy, Did it again!!!! Okay I'm getting dizzy Mommy, please don't make me do it again!

Ryder Marsh is 3 1/2 months old right now and he just rolled over from his tummy to his back for the very first time! Wait until Daddy gets home from the gym, boy do we have a surprise for him.

Mommy & Me

As if you don't already know, I love this little boy so much! Here are some cute pics of the two of us <3

Happy Independence Day...and more!

Happy 4th of July everyone! A HUGE thank you to all that serve our Country, let us always remember to keep the men and women of the military in our prayers, thanks to them we are able to celebrate freedom today.

We have had a nice long weekend. Aunt Mickey was in town from Florida. For those of you who know Aunt Mickey, you know that it means we got some good pictures taken!! Her and Yaya came over on Thursday night and we attempted a little photo session, unfortunately we're not the ones in charge of our plans anymore, we leave that up to Ryder and he just didn't like that plan. So, we got a few good ones before he was over it, and I was able to get that roll developed already, here's a sneak peak:

Friday we went over to Yaya's for dinner with my fam which is always fun! Then, Operation Photo Session Number Two was in place and was a success! Aunt Mickey wants to develop those herself, so stay tuned, you know I'll share them as soon as I get my hands on them. In the midst of taking pictures, Ryder was laying on his tummy and decided that he's such a big boy now and wanted to pick his head up, so he did! Just like that! I couldn't believe it, the best part is, we got it on camera. Again, please standby for the evidence.

Saturday was the 4th, so what better to do than dress Ryder in Red, White, & Blue, lay him on the floor, and take pictures of him:

I know, that's how I feel when I'm having a bad hair day too!

We spent our 4th of July at Alan's Grandma's, like we always do. Family, friends, fellowship, and food, interesting...all of my favorite things start with an F...hmm. This was a very late night for Ryder, the latest he has ever been out. He was asleep way before the fireworks even began, which was fine because it was way too loud for him anyway. So, we enjoyed them, then we packed up and got home around midnight.

Today, we went shopping!! Thank you Nana for your GENEROUS donation to our Babies -R- Us fund. Besides all of the regular supplies we had to stock up on, we were able to get some fun stuff for the Grandbaby, including 2 of those doorway jumpers (one for our house and one for Poppy & Nana's). It won't be long before he's holding his head sturdy enough to go to town in one of those. And I'll be right there, camera in hand, to share that fun with all of YOU!

Our Lunch Date

Ryder has a lunch date with Mommy every day when I go visit him at the babysitters on my lunch break. Today Ryder was playing on the floor when I got there, being as cute as ever. He was kicking his legs really hard, and would sometimes get the momentum to start turning to the side, as if he were going to roll over. I'm sure it will still be a while before he figures that one out, but today is the first day that I've even seen him try! This was a big event so we were all crowded around cheering him on!

Aunt Vicky saying "Come on Ryder, you can do it!"

Cody & Cameron had to get in on the action, but Ryder was more worried about watching them than trying to roll over. He wants to get up and play with the boys!

Read the shirt, this is a true statement!

And how much time do you think Ryder will spend in this little chair?? NO...not my angel!!
